I originally went to college in 1998 but left for awhile and moved to San Francisco for a couple of years. I returned to Oklahoma in 2004 and worked at Northrop Grumman for 4 years as a graphics lead and SGML coder with a level one security clearance.
I'm a fine artist, graphic designer and web developer/designer. I originally got into web development in 1999 and like to draw and paint in my free time whenever I'm inspired. Website building (front to back) has been my primary job since 2012 and Drupal has been my platform of choice for nearly every web project since that time.
In 2010, I reconnected with Julie Danforth whom I met originally in college at USAO. She gave me the courage to return to school and finish my degree. We were married about a year later.
I live in norman with my wife, Julie Dewey (Danforth) and my three kids : Maxx , Adam and Danny. I work in Norman as a software developer for Chickasaw Nation Industries.
My art is of simple compositions incorporating the human form, usually stoic and frozen in stance, sometimes deconstructing, with many layers of oil paint shining through to a drawing underneath. I value form over color and ideals over reality. My figures are surreal depictions of malproportioned, but highly detailed, iconic characters that each have their own story – usually somber and macabre. My work is social commentary on what is happening around me and is told using the most universal symbols that I know.
